An elderly man was killed inside a private apartment in Vantaa on Thursday, police said in a press release on Friday.
The incident took place at Kaivoksela area in the afternoon when a youth of 20 years old allegedly killed the 75-year-old man.
Responding to an alarm, police and emergency service people rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Police, however, did not divulge details about the incident and the identities of the victim and the suspect at the preliminary stage of the investigation.
They said that no firearm was used in the murder and the victim and the suspect were known to each but there was no relation between them.
Police later arrested the suspect from the locality in the evening and interrogating him to know more information about the murder.
Meanwhile, two men were injured when a miscreant attacked them with a sharp weapon in Kuopio, a municipality under North Savo region late Thursday night.
The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. at the stairwell of an apartment building at Kelloniemi area.
Responding to an alarm, police and rescue service people rushed to the spot and took the wounded people to hospital but the attacker fled away.
Police later arrested the suspect, a 29-year-old man from the locality.
Police are investigating into the case as two attempted murders.
