The City of Espoo opened a new dog park in Kallvikinniitty area on Wednesday, said the city in a press release.
The dog park offers dog owners in the area a safe and pleasant place for dogs to run and play free.
The construction of the enclosure was completed last autumn, but it has remained closed to allow the grass areas to grow enough to withstand the wear and tear caused by the activities of dogs.
The dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs. It is located in a place that is easy to get to in the Kallvik area.
The project is part of the City of Espoo’s dog park programme for the period 2023–2033, which improves dog owners’ opportunities for recreation locally.
A total of 12 new dog parks and four dog beaches will be built under the programme.
