One person was killed in a train accident in Helsinki while another was killed in a road mishap in Taivassalo, a municipality under Southwest Finland region on Friday, police said in separate press releases.
In Helsinki, the accident took place at about 6:00 p.m. when a train knocked down one person at Pasila railway station.
The person died on the spot.
Police, however, did not divulge details about the accident and the identity of the deceased but said that they did not find any crime link to the incident at the preliminary stage of the investigation.
Meanwhile, a young man was killed when a private car collided with a truck at the intersection of Uudenkaupungintie and Kustavintie in Taivassalo early Friday night at about 2:00 a.m.
The driver of the private car, who was alone onboard, died on the spot in the accident while the truck driver was injured slightly.
The police did not disclose the identity of the deceased and reason behind the accident.
Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the accident to find out more information in this regard.
