Small electric plane crashes in Hyvinkää, 1 killed

One person was killed and another injured when an electric small plane crashed in Hyvinkää, a municipality in Southern Finland on Monday evening, police said.

The accident took place at about 6:50 p.m. when the plane with two people onboard crashed into the ground of a motor racing track shorty after taking off.

One of them died on the spot while the rest one was injured.

Police, however, did not divulge the identities of the deceased and the injured person and the reason behind the crash could not be known immediately.

The Safety Investigation Authority (Otkes) and police are investigating into the incident to find out more information about the crash.

Meanwhile, a man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident in Kuusamo, a municipality under Northern Ostrobothnia region on Monday morning, police said.

The accident took place at about 8:15 a.m. when the ATV turned turtle and crashed the driver under it. He died on the spot.

Police said that the man born in 1960s was driving the ATV at his workplace but did not disclose the detail identity of the deceased.

Meanwhile, one person was killed, and four others were injured in a head-on collision between two private cars in Nurmijärvi, a municipality under Uusimaa region on Monday afternoon, police said.

The accident took place at about 3:15 p.m. when a private car skidded off the road at Hangontie and collided with another car coming from opposite direction.

There were five people in the two cars and one of them died on the spot while the rest four were injured.

Police did not divulge the identities of the deceased and the injured people.

Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the incidents to find out the reasons behind the accident.
