
Three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Ylöjärvi and Muurame on Saturday and Friday, police said on Saturday.
Two people- a driver and a passenger of a private car- were killed when the car collided with a semi-trailer combination vehicle in Ylöjärvi, a municipality under Pirkanmaa region on Saturday afternoon.
The accident took place at about 4:00 p.m. on Valtatie road when the car coming from Hämeenkyrö direction collided with the combination vehicle coming from Tampere direction.
The driver and the lone passenger of the private car died on the spot while a passenger of the combination vehicle sustained minor wound, but its driver remained unhurt.
Responding to an alarm rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. The reason behind the accident could not be known.
Meanwhile, an elderly man was killed in a head on collision between a private car and a semi-trailer combination vehicle in Muurame, a municipality near Jyväskylä on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. when the private car skidded off the Välisellä road and hit the combination vehicle.
Driver of the car, who was alone onboard, died on the spot.
Police, however, did not divulge the details identities of the deceased.
The Accident Investigation Board and police are investigating into the incidents to find out the circumstances surrounding them and get more information about the accidents.
