German President´s visit to affect traffic movement in Helsinki

The visit of President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier scheduled for Thursday may cause brief traffic disruptions in the centre of Helsinki, said police on Wednesday.

The police will be responsible for the security and traffic arrangements related to the visit and will direct traffic as needed.

Steinmeier will pay a working visit to Finland on Thursday, the Finnish President Office said.

He will be accompanied by his spouse, Elke Büdenbender.

President Alexander Stubb and Steinmeier will meet at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, where they will discuss bilateral relations between Finland and Germany, as well as support for Ukraine, comprehensive security and defence‑industrial cooperation, European security, transatlantic relations, and the situation in the Middle East.
