The Finnish Food Workers´ Union (SEL) started a three-day strike in the meat and food processing sector on early Tuesday demanding a new collective agreement, said SEL.
The strike started after midnight on Tuesday in 13 plants of different companies and will continue until Thursday at 11:59.p.m. as the negotiation talks ended without any fruitful result.
The strike is being observed at Apetit Ruoka´ Säkylä plant, Atria´s Forssa and Nurmo (excluding poultry factory) plants, HKFoods Finland´s Forssa, Mikkeli and Vantaa plants, Pouttu´s Kannus plant and Saarioinen´s Huittinen central dispatch center, Delitalo, Sahalahti and Valkeakoski plants and Snellmanin Kokkikartano´s Kerava plants.
The strike concerns all employees and work covered by the collective agreement between SEL and ETL.
Earlier. SEL observed a four-day strike at 150 bakeries from March 31.
The SEL also observed a weeklong strike from March 23 at three major breweries demanding a new collective agreement.
