
Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on Monday met with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte at NATO Headquarters in Brussels and discussed various issues including European security.
“Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen met today (Monday) with Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte at the NATO HQ in Brussels. The discussions centered around European security, Transatlantic relations and support for Ukraine,” Finland at NATO, Permanent Representation of Finland to NATO wrote in a post on its social media platform X.
The Foreign Minister said that Finland is fully committed to NATO’s defence and deterrence, according to a social media post of Valtonen.
“NATO stands stronger than ever. Many thanks, Secretary General Mark Rutte for the opportunity to exchange views on topical issues including transatlantic security. Finland is fully committed to NATO’s defence and deterrence. To complement our investments, we need to focus on a competitive defence industry across the Alliance,” Valtonen wrote on her X after the meeting.
