A participant of a motorcycle race was killed in an accident during the event at Kauhava, a municipality under Southern Ostrobothnia region on Sunday afternoon, police and the race organiser said.
The accident took place at about 4:00 p.m. when the participant of the drag race lost control over his motorcycle at LSK Business Park and died on the spot.
The event was suspended following the death of the participant, race organiser Finnish Hot Rod Association (FHRA) said.
The police and, the organiser, however, did not divulge details about the accident and the identity of the deceased.
The police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the death.
Earlier in February this year, a rally driver was killed in an accident during the Toivakka Rally in Toivakka, a municipality near Jyväskylä in Central Finland.
