An elderly man, who went missing at Karstula, a municipality in Central Finland on Saturday, was found dead on Sunday, police said.
Police said that the man went for picking berry on Saturday morning but did not return home.
The man could not be contacted over phone after he had gone missing.
Responding to an alarm, police together with people of the voluntary rescue service- Vapepa conducted extensive search at the locality and nearby areas.
They used drones, dogs and equipment from the air rescue team.
Later a Border Guard helicopter also engaged in the search and based on the observations of the Border Guards, the body of the person was found from a land in the locality.
Police did not divulge detail identity of the deceased and the reason behind his death could not be known.
Police are investigating into the incident to get more information in this regard.
