Police received reports indicating that scam calls in the name of police have been made to people both in Finnish and English during the recent period, said police in a press release on Wednesday.
The police warned the people to be refrained from providing any personal, banking information or transferring money following such phone calls.
The police, banks, or any other legitimate entity will not ask for people´s bank details or ask to transfer funds to a secure account.
If anyone receives such suspected scam call, it was also recommended to end the call immediately.
Police also suggested that the people should contact their bank and file a report with the police immediately, if someone already had provided the suspected scam callers with personal information and bank detail.
