One person was killed and another injured in a road accident at Savonlinna, a municipality in Eastern Finland region on Saturday afternoon, police said in a press release.
The accident took place at about 4:30 p.m. at Kääpäsaari area when a private car with two men onboard coming from Savonranta direction to Kerimäki, skidded off the road and collided with a roadside tree.
Passenger of the car was killed on the spot in the accident while the driver was injured.
The driver was taken to hospital.
The Police, however, did not divulge the identities of the deceased and the injured man.
The reason behind the accident could not be known immediately.
The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
