A man was killed when another man attacked him with sharp weapon inside a residence at Nöykkiö area in Espoo on Friday, police said.
The incident took place at about 6:45 a.m. and the victim, who sustained severe wounds, succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Responding to an alarm several patrols of Western Uusimaa Police and rescue service people rushed to the residence and recovered the body with several marks of injury.
Police also picked up two people-a man and a woman- who were present in the residence at the time of the murder but later released the woman after interrogation, said police in a press release on Saturday.
Police said that the method of the murder was particularly brutal and they arrested the man as suspect of the murder.
They, however, did not divulge details about the incident and the identities of the victim and the suspect at the initial stage of the investigation.
Police are investigating into the case as murder.
