One person was burnt to death in a fire occurred at an apartment building in Kerava, a municipality under Uusimaa region on Sunday morning, police said in a press release.
The fire broke out at the second floor of the building at Ahjorinte area at about 8:30 a.m. and engulfed the nearby apartments.
Responding to an alarm, rescue service personnel and police rushed to the spot and found one person dead in one of the apartments.
Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.
Police suspected that the fire originated from the apartment of the victim, but the origin of the fire could not be known.
Rescue service people and police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the death.
The fire also disrupted vehicular movement on the nearby road for a short while due to the rescue operation.
