One person has drowned in a lake at Kitee, a municipality in Eastern Finland, police said on Monday.’
The incident took place when man went missing in Paasselkä lake on Saturday afternoon at about 5:00 p.m.
Responding to an alarm, Rescue Service people and police rushed to the spot and conducted extensive search till 10:00 p.m. but failed to recover him and ended the search for Saturday.
On the following day, police together with the voluntary rescue service- Vapepa resumed the search and recovered his body late Sunday night at about 10:00 p.m.
Police did not divulge detail identity of the deceased but said that he was in his 50s.
Police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind his death.
Earlier, two people drowned on Saturday and on Friday, six people including three children have drowned in separate incidents at different parts of the country.
