A total of 408,900 offences against the Criminal Code were recorded by the police, customs and border guard in Finland in January to September 2025, according to Statistics Finland.
The number is 3.1 per cent higher than the stipulated period of the previous year.
The number of reported assaults was 32,100, which is 3.8 per cent more than in the year before.
A total of 61 murders were reported, which is, however, seven fewer than in 2024.
Altogether 1,000 cases of sexual harassment were reported, which is good 100 cases fewer than in January to September 2024.
Of the acts, 300 were committed on the Internet.
A total of 2,200 reports were made about dissemination or possession of a sexually offensive image of a child or following a sexually offensive performance of a child, which is nearly 140 per cent more than in the previous year.
Over 90 per cent of the acts were committed on the Internet.
